Before combat you can pick the troops you want to use and the formation, the amount of troops you can use is limited by your charisma, the more troops results in more damage. Each battle consists of two groups fighting each other, on one side you and your troops/allies and on the other side the current monsters/boss. Combat in Wartune is one of it’s best feature, it’s simple yet highly engaging and tactical. Dungeons are repeatable but there is a limit to how many dungeons you can do every day. There are also multi-player dungeons you can join which drop unique items that can be used to create set items and a special catacombs dungeon which consists of endless levels of monsters you can fight. The dungeons are rather simple in their design, as befit a browser game, and you just walk around and kill monsters until you face the boss of the dungeon. Each dungeon has it’s own monsters and drop tables, as well with random other prizes. Clearing an entire map grants a one-time unique prize, mostly a huge amount of resources and unlocking the next map. There are several types of dungeons, the basic one is the solo dungeon which consists of several maps, each has multiple dungeons that increase in level and you unlock them one by one. The main MMORPG experience in Wartune is slaying a lot of monsters in the many many dungeons that are available. Fortunately there are many quests in the game that give various amounts of resources, and you can also plant and collect resources in your farm, so even if you’re low on resources, it is not hard to recover and keep upgrading to become stronger. Kyanite is also acquired mainly from dungeons but is rarer and usually acquired in low quantities. Upgrading your units is important and the upgrades are pricey, making Daru a rare and important resource The third resource is Kyanite which is used in the academy for research.

Daru is used to upgrade units and is acquired through dungeons and from your fallen troops. In addition there is an aspect of resource management as there are three resources in the game: gold which is used to upgrade buildings and purchase many items and is easily obtainable from your town hall, gold refinery and gold mines you control in the vicinity. This is the strategic part of this strategic of this MMORPG hybrid, though the upgrading itself is instantaneous, every upgrade has a cool down, making you wait between each modification. Many of the buildings can be upgraded, allowing you an increased cap of whatever the building provides, such as increased unit level according to the barracks level or increased gold income from the gold refinery. Each building in the city has it’s own purpose, the Arena allows you to challenge other players, the Academy grants you access to research many passive bonuses for your character, the Hall of Heroes allows you to participate in multi-player dungeons and so forth. As you level more and more buildings will be available for you, adding more areas you can visit or bonuses for your hero. Every player has it’s own city where you can find various buildings that grants you access to different features as well as bonuses and units according to the building level and the upgrade choices you make. Unlike other MMORPGs, in Wartune there is also an element of city development. Like any other MMORPGs, you improve your character by slaying monsters, completing quests and acquiring superb gear. Wartune’s appeal comes from it’s massive amount of content, there are plenty of things to do that will keep you playing for quite a lot of time. Even though your character behavior in combat relies on it’s skills, the items you are using affects your character’s performance immensely, allowing you to customize your character as you see fit. While each has it’s own unique abilities and role in the game. In Wartune you can pick one of the three available classes, mage, knight or an archer.
